The India Jute & Industries Ltd. is a manufacturer of diversified jute & synthetic yarns for various applications since 1916.
The India Jute and Industries Limited (IJIL) was incorporated as The India Jute Company Limited on 25 August 1916. The present promoters took the control of the company in the year 1956 from M/s Mackenzie & Co. Ltd when it was only a Jute manufacturing unit and diversified the product in subsequent years by establishing Cotton Spinning Plant, Synthetic Spinning Plant, Jute Fine Yarn Export Unit and Jute Woven Carpet Unit. The present promoters of the company belong to Jalan group who are running the company for over 50 years period since the year 1956. They have sound technical background and experience in operating a Textile mill and a Fine Jute Yarn mill with the good knowledge of market network in West Bengal and neighboring states.
The company has three divisions namely Textile Division (Synthetic Yarn Spinning Mill), Jute Fine Yarn Division and Carpet Division. The Textile Division and Jute Fine Yarn Division is running and Carpet Division is closed since 2005.
